Somebody ran out of Indo

Well now Ricky Williams wants back in the NFL. The Dolphins say they don't want the guy back beacause he quit on them, but they can accept him back and trade them to another team. I am sure somebody wants Ricky Williams, perhaps the Ravens would like to replace they're coke dealing running back with a pot smoking running back. Shoot I actually wouldn't mind seeing Ricky in a Broncos jersey. It's really funny how when money is on the table people change they're minds. I don't get why he quit in the first place, yea sure it's fun to travel and smoke pot all the time but you can only afford that habit for so long. I guarantee one thing and that is that Ricky Williams will not be in a Dolphins jersey ever again.

I couldn't agree more - Ricky will indeed come back to play in the NFL, in fact, he'll probably join his Dolphins club either this week or next, but he won't be playing for the rest of this season. Either way you look at it, Ricky is not going to be making the money he has been the previous few years. I don't think he'll join the Ravens, Lewis will only be out for 4 weeks max, which he'll serve his suspension this year, jail time during the off-season and be back in training camp come July 05.

A part of wouldn't mind seeing Ricky in a Bronco's uniform either, but at the same time, knowing what I know about his team player attitude, not too sure I would like him coming to Denver. His skill though is totally worthy. My opinion is, he'll be suspended for the rest of this season for the NFL's Abuse policy, he'll be traded to another team, that team will re-work his contract and he'll make millions less (but he won't be forced to pay back that 8.something million he owes right now).

He's a pothead, Focker. I'd make him play in the European league.

I don't know how anyone would want this pot-smoking hippie on their team- and I'm not referring to me, I'm referring to Ricky Williams. But, of course, some teams are hurting in the RB situation- one of particular- Miami. With that said, I really wouldn't be surprised if Miami did welcome him back.

As for the Jamal Lewis case- 4 weeks is not sufficient punishment. Unlike Ricky who admitted to using drugs, Jamal Lewis was actually traffiking drugs. This is a serious Federal offense. Do you honestly believe if Jamal was a schoolteacher caught trafficking, he'd ever teach again? Or if he was a prosecutor, he'd be in the court of law again? I doubt it very much. Four weeks is not just punishment and sends the wrong message to the public, if not children. Jamal should serve the conditions of his crime like every other citizen. Therefore, he really shouldn't be playing football for the rest of the season, and depending upon the outcome of his court appearance, however long his sentence is.

Ricky, on the other hand, is just some dumbazz who thought it'd be cool to follow The Grateful Dead around for the summer instead of actually working and getting paid. He'll play, and it just might be in Miami considering their season has taken such a major blow due to his loss.

I agree my cosmic pal, Lewis should be kicked off the team. You nailed it right on the head with that one about the school teacher not getting their job back. I think he should get the boot. This special treatment BS ios getting me sick. As for Rickey yea he is just a hippie and who knows maybe the Finz will reconsider keeping him on the team.

I can almost agree with you two. For starters, can't really compare to a school teacher. The majority of the jobs (school teacher) included, have written rules about hiring people with criminal records. So yeah, if a school teacher was caught doing the same thing they sure wouldn't be teaching any longer. On the other hand, the NFL has no such written rules. Therefore I wouldn't consider it special treatment, but more or less as someone finding a slip in the crack.

Bottom line is Lewis will only be suspended for 4 games - the reason for this is because this incident took place PRIOR to his joining the NFL. I agree with you though that it should be longer, but I doubt it will be.

As far as Ricky is concerned - I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, the Dolphins (unless they are a stupid organization) will welcome Williams back with open arms. But again, he won't be playing this year so don't pick him up in your fantasy leagues. The NFL will suspend him for the remainder of this season if he comes back. If he waits until next year, the NFL will suspend him for 4 weeks, either way, he's sitting. What he needs to do is come back this year, take his punishment, work out with the team, get in really good condition, play next year (hopefully have a great season) so he can test the market out for a possible trade (I'm sure Miami doesn't really care to hold onto him, but if he performs well, the trade bait is even greater).

I want Smokie Williams in a Bronco uniform, so what if he's got a doobie problem, we will just have him save it for the off season, he is a power running back that the Broncos could ridet to the superbowl, just like some other running back in Denver's glory days of the late 90's. first name "T", last name "D," remember?

Point understood Rich - athletically, who wouldn't want to see Williams in a Bronco's uniform, unless you're a Chiefs or Raiders fan? But unfortnately with Williams, you're not just getting a great back, you have to take in all the loose baggage he brings to the table. That includes his pot smokin' problem, all ready a 3-strike violator of the NFL's substance abuse policy, a 4th violation could mean severe punishment. That's what you really need to focus on. Basically the guy cannot make a single mistake, otherwise it's the Bronco's who will lose in the long run. Who is willing to bet on those odds? I'm sure Shanahan isn't, or Bowlen for that matter!

What about Mike Anderson?

At this point, Anderson is a huge risk as well even though he doesn't have 3 strikes against him. Really it boils down to him being healthy as opposed to being suspended by the league. Don't get me wrong here, Ricky can flourish in our offense, he has the skills to gain 2,000 easily in our system, can he just behave long enough to achieve this?
