NFC West Arizona Cardinals

Finished 2004 season 6-10, 3rd place behind Seattle and St Louis

Key returning starters:
Anquan Boldin - WR
Larry Fitzgerald - WR
Bertrand Berry - DE
Adrian Wilson - S
Larry Croom - RB

The Cardinals have surprisingly had a lot of chatter from around the NFL as a potential playoff team from the NFC West. Will that be the case? Arizona has an explosive defense that could very end up a top 10 defense by years end, but will Kurt Warner shake off two poor seasons in a row and return to the form when he lead the Rams to a Super Bowl victory?

2004 Stats:
Ranked 27th overall in offense, #14 ranked in NFC
Ranked 12th overall in defense, #4 ranked in NFC

Your thoughts on the Arizona Cardinals this upcoming 2005 season...strengths/weaknesses and your prediction on where they will finish in the division.

And the Cardinals win the NFC West....

Okay, so I'm only dreaming. This Cardinals team is very exciting. Dennis Green has had two solid drafts, signed some decent free agents and is looking to build a playoff caliber franchise.

Their defense is without a doubt their strong point. Though this season they might be struggling a little bit because both CB are rookies, even though Antrell Rolle from Miami is one of those rookies, they are still rookies.

Offensively I'd like to believe they can do something special. Kurt Warner could give them a spark, but untimately, I look for McCown to take over by years end. Warner just hasn't been accurate in the past few years as well as injury prone.

If the Cardinals can somehow solidify a starting QB who can make plays, this could potentially be a playoff team. Bet they are missing Jake Plummer now...

Will the Cards make the playoffs? Not this season. As long as Seattle as Alexander and Hasselback and St Louis as Bulger and Jackson, Holt, Bruce, I don't see the Cards finishing any higher than 3rd in that division.

But be on the lookout, Dennis Green is starting to mold this franchise and we could be seeing some wonderful things in the next year or two.

Now here is a team I am excited about. This team has been in the slumps for decades and finally they have a playoff contending team and quite honestly they are stacked. They have a healthy Boldin back and a top notch QB in Kurt Warner to throw him the rock. They drafted 2k yard rusher JJ Arrington who might be the difference in this team making or breaking to the playoffs. look for the Cardinals to be a shocker and give the West a run for a division title. 9-7 in the weak division.

Cardinals are the hot pick among many sportswriters trying to find this years Chargers. With this division of potential 8-8 teams, the Cards could make noise.
Mr Warner can still deliver a decent game if given adequate protection. The G Men failed to do this in 2004. Steve or Red, you should set up a Yahoo Pro football pick-ems that we all could join for a friendly competion. Set it up with the point spreads of course!

Interesting point Johnny...and I quote you, "Mr Warner can still deliver a decent game if given adequate protection." That is actually a weak spot for the Cards right now, they don't have a lot of depth, plus they are suffering from injuries.

Can the line they have now gel together to give Warner that ample time...remains to be seen, but that is necessary for Warner to be successful - needs time.
