Birds of feather flock together...

Randy Moss is going to the Raiders for a couple of high draft picks and a up and coming linebacker Napoleon Harris. Can this get the Raiders back in the hunt for a superbowl?

Not with the Chiefs, Broncos, and Chargers in the same division

Tough post - trying to formulate my opinion without being too biased as I really hate the Raiders.

With the addition of Randy Moss, it'll make going to the Broncos/Raiders game more enjoyable at Invesco Field, thats for sure. The Raiders just currently re-signed Jerry Porter, and now traded for another high priced receiver Moss. Two players, Sapp and Woodson on defense are high salary cap numbers, makes you wonder if Al Davis is just throwing all his cookies into 1 basket and is playing the Lambardi Trophy this season instead of trying to formulate a plan over the course of a couple years.

Collins isn't a bad QB. I don't think we'll see Gannon back, I would be very surprised if he does not retire. Though I don't see Gannon having the same type of success with Moss and Porter as he did with Brown and Rice. Remember that team was about short passes, enough to make the safeties cheat to the line of scrimmage and throw a deep ball to Porter (who lead that squad with 9 TD that season).

Now the question will be brought up in O-Town, who is the #1 receiver? Will the ego's work together or will there be turmoil between Moss and Porter? Where does this still leave that pathetic defense?

I tell you, that offense with Moss is looking scary. Collins was starting to feel comfortable in that system later on in the season and I think if he can continue that run, the Raiders will be looking like a playoff team.

But the Super Bowl? No - not until that defense becomes more aggressive and actually starts to make plays. It's just another Chiefs teams in the power house West!

Hey moron, the Raiders went to the Super Bowl in 2002 and lost to the Bucs, not in 2000. Learn football before you post here!

I think Moss will have an immediate impact on the success of the Raiders. I high 5 Al Davis for putting his balls on the line and getting Moss. In a division like the AFC West you need to go out and make moves like this. With both Jerry Porter and Randy Moss catching balls Collins will not have any excuses for why the Raiders shouldn't make the playoffs. The team is loaded with young talent for the 1st time in a long time. They have been packed with talent in years passed but it has usually been old talent. With Moss and Porter on offense and Kerry Collins slinging the rock they should be able to produce a 1000 yard back as well to compliment there aerial attack. As for the defensive side of the ball they should be able to produce more turnovers and play up to there abilities since they will not be on the field for most part of the game, that is if the offense can carry the load and ware out opponents defenses.

As for Randy Moss, well he's Randy and yes a lot of baggage goes with him not to mention his pooping antics. I'm sure he won't be making any of those trips to the goal post in Denver since Champ Bailey will be on him. That is the coolest thing about this trade is that it brings more talent to the AFC West and being a Bronco fan that excites me because we will get to see Moss twice a year.

I agree Red, as I said in my comment, it'll make going to the Brocnos/Raiders game more exciting. But shit, how do you cover two #1 receivers? This is going to present a whole new problem for teams in the AFC West. Pressure on the QB is going to seem like the ONLY thing to do.

Makes you wonder how many TD's Moss/Porter are going to have against the "You can't spell choke without the K & the C"

Personally, if I was a Raiders fan-I'd be upset. The Raiders needs are clearly on the defensive side of the ball where they were ranked last or near to last in all categories. The Raiders just now lost two valuable picks in the draft to upgrade their defense, as well as letting go a very promising LB. They are turning out to be the KC of the West as you said Steve- but we all know- Defense wins championships.

Not sure how adding Moss is going to make the Raiders any better- sure, they may score 30 points, but with that defense- they'll be giving up 40.

Oh great, another fuggen moron to entertain us.

OK...Gregster baby- like I asked your buddy Mikey- show me the stats that provide authentic proof the Raiders having any kind of formidable defense.

AGAIN- they are ranked at the bottom OR near the bottom on all the AFC defensive stats.

If you guys can't contribute anything without being clueless fucktards, then I suggest you two go play with each other in some other sandbox.

Your buddy, Mikey has done nothing more than make a complete unmitigated ass of himself with far-out tales and has never been able to substantiate anything with facts.

Oh, and another thing- I know a whole hell of a lot more about football than you ever will.

Uhh Gregster22 or whatever you like to call yourself - first of all, what the hell is with the "22-in" and 22-out" crap. What is 22 and why do you keep repeating it?

Secondly, you're 14, great, glad you like football, but all of us junkies are very knowledgeable, including CosmicPal, though he is a Chiefs fan, so that isn't a 100% accurate!!!

On the other hand, 1010 tackles? Where in the hell did you find that stat? Let me give you some instruction in what I like to call,

NFL FOOTBALL 101

1) A team with generally a lot of tackles means that defense isn't that good. Reason for this is simple, the more tackles, the more time your defense is on the field;

The more time your defense is on the field means the more points/yardage your team is giving up.

2) Total tackles are not a stat to verify whether or not a defense is good.

End of class.

I will partially agree with you that Oakland's defense started playing much better towards the end of last year. But overall, their offense was just atrocious (means pathetic, horrible). I do think Oakland’s problems were just more then defense though, their offense didn’t put that defense in any position to try and help the team out. A –16 in the turnover ration certainly doesn’t help, Gannon going down to injury, then losing Curry hurt that team offensively. But if Oakland wants to head back to the Super Bowl, that defense needs to start playing better then average.

Curious

Who's going to throw this glut of receievers the ball? The Raiders could have used the #7 pick either to take Charlie Frye of Akron or potentially trade up to get Aaron Rodgers

Meant to say, "Utah's Alex Smith" where Charlie Frye should be, sorry.

you are all idiots , did you watch thursday nights game

Aaron walker is the second coming of kenny stabler. we stole him in the 3rd round and history will wonder why he didnt go 1st round . he will surpass tuassasopo (sp?) for 2nd in line on depth chart and when collins goes down , there will be water cooler talk that waltters is the next ben rosthesberger, as the raiders march into the playoffs, Only to be let down by a not quite playoff ready defense. mark my words , so i dont have to make you eat them in later this year.
