So long Sammy...

How will Sammy be as an Oriole? Can he bring the Orioles to the playoffs? How will he be with the media there? Will we see any more Corky Ramono impressions?

Slammin Steroid Sammy Sosa - we'll see after all the emphasized steroid testing to see how he fairs. If no roids, then he'll probably have an average year. I don't see the Orioles going to the playoffs in that tough division/conference, especially with their rotation. Interesting to see possibly the best player in Cubs history (atleast the most productive offensively) get traded, but that doesn't surprise me, epsecially considering the Cubs history of losing their best players.

Sammy is an old ass washed up, corked bat swingin, roid rageing loser. He is like all the other has-beens that end up somewhere for the last couple years of what would of been a pretty good career.

I'm not a huge fan of this move if it involves giving a contract extension to Sosa. I have no problem with the minor leaguers given up as they don't look like anything special. I hate to see Hairston go but since he's always hurt and the O's wouldn't play him at 2B, where he belongs, I can live with it.

I just watched the Sosa press conference and he seems like he's really happy to be in BALT and he seems like he wants to fit in. I doubt he'll have any more issues like he did in Chicago - especially with Tejada around.

i grew up in chicago and every year my dad and i would go to some games together. I'm a youngin, but i remember when mark grace and ryne sandburg played, listenin' to Harry belt "take me out to the ball game" during the seventh inning. and it just seemed like sammy would always be there. it's sad to me as a fan to see a player you get used to leave, but we do lose good players, we lose big games, and we having been losing since 1908. So i guess it is in fashion to lose another. Someday, cubbies. Someday.
