No Championship for Shaq!

Shaq promised Miami a championship but came up short against the Pistons. I am sure that kobe was glad to see the Heat not make it. Your thoughts?

Kobe has no business even thinking. Kobe "IThinkImTheMan" Bryant couldn't even make the playoffs being the sole leader of his team.

As far as Shaq - Miami will get there, probably next year. Understand, this team was led by 1st year to the team Shaq and a newbie head coach. If Wade can produce as he did last season, along with Shaq, I see great things coming from Miami.

To build a championship team, you need to have a solid nucleus, and I think Miami has that, they just need to gel a little more and really feed off of each other. Watch the Piston's play - sure they have talent, but Billups is no Wade, and Wallace is no Shaq, but see how well they communicate on the floor and know each other's strengths and weaknesses...very solid team in a shitty conference.

Well like you said it will take a year to get gelling down in Miami, but perhaps that's all Kob Bryant and the Lakers need as well, jut a little gellin. I think that next year will be a better evaluation year for both players success. Shaq had the benefit of having Wade where Kobe had to adjust to not having Shaq which I believe would be a harder adjustment to make.

I can almost agree with you there except for this tid-bit - understand that Miami was a playoff team in 2003-2004 season without Shaq. Were they as good as their 2004-2005 team? No even, but Miami still was a #4 seed in the playoffs the previous year. I think the addition of Shaq got them where they finished this season. The Lakers on the other hand, an NBA finals team in the 2003-2004 season to finishing as the 11th seed during the 2004-2005 campaign, as well as below .500

Kobe, as good as he is, won't be able to succeed without help around him. People bring up the Jordan era of things, saying he couldn't win without Pippen by his side...just may be the case in Laker town.

I agree Kevin about the league shifting to good old fasion team ball which is great for those teams but bad for the NBA in the fact that everyone loves to see the star who carries his team with 40 points a game , hmm reminds me of a #23. But I actually enjoy watching this team basketball. Lots of good passing and technique. All the individual teams are out IE. Shaq & Wade's Heat, Nash & Hammers Suns. Who are you picking to win this series Kev? I am going with the Pistons in 7.
