NFC West Seattle Seahawks

Finished 2004 season 9-7, First place in the NFC West

Key returning starters:
Shaun Alexander - RB
Matt Hasselbeck - QB
Darrell Jackson - WR
Grant Wistrom - DE
Marcus Trufant - CB

Having won the NFC West with a 9-7 record and getting bounced out of the playoffs in the first round against the Rams, the Seahawks look to spread their wings again this season and go further into the playoffs. Can the young group of players Rhodes has on defense help this team take the next step?

2004 Stats:
Ranked 8th overall in offense, #4 ranked in NFC
Ranked 26th overall in defense, #14 ranked in NFC

Your thoughts on the Seattle Seahawks this upcoming 2005 season...strengths/weaknesses and your prediction on where they will finish in the division.

There's just something about the damn Seahawks I just can't stand. I don't know what it is exactly, but I've always hated them. Perhaps because of their playing days in the AFC West. I don't know...but this team has a lot of talent on it and it's sad to see them go 9-7 in a conference/division that is just weak.

I hope this season Alexander gets the rushing title I know he was after last season (not to mention I have him on a few of my fantasy football teams so that'll go over well for me :)) Offensively this team will again be a top 10 offense in the NFL. Though they are a bit stretched thin at the Wr position, still Darrell Jackson will be the go-to-man.

Defensively, they seem to start every off with a bang, then just go downhill. They are very young on defense, have a lot of speed, but defense takes an attitude and Ray Rhodes' defense just lacks that.

Seattle finishes again with a 9-7 record, 2nd place in the NFC West

The Sea-flops fooled me last year so I can't pick em for better than 9-7. What-A-Hassle-back can throw the ball but nobody home at the other end. The dropped balls plague. Seattle has more balls on the ground than a herd of short legged bulls. Great running back, decent defense but less firepower than the Rams. Adding Peter Warrick is no help.

Yeah johnny, they burn everyone every year...team has just so much talent you are always curious whether or not it's "their" year...but Hasselbeck is just too inconsistant and man oh man, did their receivers drop so many damn passes last season. That killed em.
