Sabans Gang

First-year coach Nick Saban has the Dolphins at a surprising 2-1 after his team withstood a monster receiving day by Steve Smith (11 catches, 170 yards, three TDs) at Pro Player Stadium.

It's surprising but not too surprising - we all knew they had a good defense, it was just a question of their offense. I felt that Feeley wasn't the right man for the job so I was glad to see Ferotte given an opportunity. Gus boy isn't a great QB, but he is good enough to lead that offense in a way it needs to be. Brown hasn't been too impressive (exception his start against Carolina) so I think once Ricky can play again (2 weeks because the Fins have a bye week in week #5) we'll see this offense really start to go and with the injuries in the AFC East, Dolphins could finish a surprising 2nd place (can't say they will be on top of New England)

Gus Frerotte I believe is a damn good QB, i almost wish the Broncos had him as there starting QB, over his career he has passed for 82 TD's and 69 picks, so he is +13 in that department compared to Plummer who is 134-144, still -10 in that department.

I agree thye will probably not pass up New England, but i'm sure Saban will be up for coach of the year if they can get at least 10 wins.

You think anyone would be a better fit for Denver than Plummer so lets not go there...

Saban does have a good opportunity to be the coach of the year, but honestly, that award is for Haslett to lose...with all him and his staff/team had to face with hurricane Katrina, all he has to do is muster a decent season out of them and he'll receive it!

Miami is certainly improved, tis was a 10 win team just two years ago, they have some stars on the D. The next 3 games will tell us how improved they are as they are AT Buffalo, AT Tampa and home to KC. After that they play Saints followed by New England and Atlanta. Nothing easy in the next 6 weeks. 3-3 would be a good run. Next year they may contend!
Your Broncos have an intersting game this week at Jags! Tough call.
