Week 4's Games Of The Week

Not to be bias but all the games of the week include teams from the AFC West starting with the Broncos at Jacksonville to face the Jags, Chargers at the pats and finally my pick for game of the week and which should have a pivotal outcome is the Eagles at Kansas City to face the Chiefs. Please post your thoughts on all three games and your predictions.

Jacksonville will prove to be a tough test against the Broncos. The Broncos have a history of playing poorly in the state of Florida as much as KC has a riveting history of playing poorly in Denver. This will be a low scoring game, but I'd have to take Jacksonville with a late game field goal to win it all.

Will the loss of Harrison hurt the Pats? I doubt it. Seems like nothing hurts the Pats. Unlike the Jags and Broncos, I expect this to be a high-scoring game. As good as both teams are- I'd have to get the ultimate advantage to the home team.

Lastly, KC and Philly. Should be a fun game to watch. Both teams have injuries to significant players, but in Philly's case- McNabb will be playing. Again, I have to favor the home team on this one. KC suffered an embarrassing, and rightful loss, to the Broncos on national TV. They will be on the national stage again, and they will certainly not want to lose again- particularly at home. I don't think KC's defense is as bad as they revealed themselves to be against Denver, so I'm going to say KC will win a thriller of a game.

While we're in the AFC West, I'll say the bad boys of the NFL- the Raiders, will pull off their first win of the season. I'd rather see them lose. As a matter of fact, I'd like to see them lose all of their games- it should would be nice to watch a football game without hearing "Randy Moss" all the phucking time.

Nice post there Cosmic! I am going to have to go with the Broncos in Jacksonville this weekend only because the running game looked so good last week racking up over 200 yards against the Chiefs. Without Donavon Darius in the lineup for the Jags the Broncos should not have any trouble establishing a well balanced attack using Mike Anderson to bring the defense up close only to leave the secondary open for the Broncos receivers. Look for Ashley Lelie to have a big game this week. Broncos by 10

The Chargers go to New England to keep themselves above .500 and in the hunt for 1st place after spanking the Giants at home last week and I think they will do the same in New England, look for LT to tear it up again this week and rush for a pair of TD's and Antonio Gates to find holes in the secondary without Rodney Harrison on the prowl. I say the Chargers by 10 in this one, you have to keep it out of reach for Brady and the crew to come back.

The Eagles go to KC this week to battle the Chiefs who basically got waxed last week in Denver. The Eagles will struggle in this one but still come out victorious because of the multiple talents of Michael Westbrook. look for Westbrook and the Eagles to have a big game in KC while it's still warm. If the weather was cooler I might have picked this one different. Eagles by 7.

Interesting picks and good football talk to back up your picks...I love it!!! That's what I envisioned with this site. With that said, here are my picks for these games:

Jacksonville is extremely tough at home and has probably the best run defense in the league right now. Here is the key to this game, Denver's running attack against Marcus Stroud and John Henderson in the middle of that Jags defensive line. I strongly believe the winner of this battle will win the game. Reggie Hayward will also have extra momentum playing against his former team. Cosmic, you also bring up a good point of Denver's history in the state of Florida...

My pick - Denver - not a biased pick, but this is why...since the 2nd half of the Chargers game, the Broncos defense has been playing with great confidence. It doesn't matter where the game was played or on what platform it was played on, when you can hold Larry Johnson and Priest Holmes to under a 100 yards combined, that is something special (not to mention holding the best RB in the game today LT to 52 yards). The Jags offense only gained 176 yards last week in a victory against a struggling defense, how will they fair against a top defense? Offensively, I think Denver is a better team and this game will be close but Denver wins a squeeker 17-16.

The loss of Harrison probably won't hurt the Patriots that much, but with the addition of Matt Light, Kevin Faulk and Marquise Hill all not playing this week due to injury, that does hurt! San Diego knows they pretty much are in a must win situation - a loss would probably put this team down even further in this tight AFC West race. I think this game will be closer because of the Brady factor but I am picking the Chargers to walk away with a 24-21 victory.

Finally, the game of the week in my opinion is Philadelphia @ Kansas City. This would have been a great prime time game (instead of the damn Cards/9ers in Mexico). Donovan is hurting and when that offense struggles, it's when Donovan isn't playing well. I've learned my lesson that playing in Kansas City is one of the most difficult stadiums to get a win. With that said, I'm going with the Chiefs who will rebound from a disappointing performance against Denver. The Eagles will blitz 80% of the time so Trent Green will need to find Johnson or Holmes in the flat and stick to short quick passes. Because of this, Tony Gonzalez should have a huge game! 31 - 17 Chiefs

Great points Steve, I think you brought up another great depate of who is the best running back in the NFL now and it made me think who that torch might be passed onto and that would be a MR. Williams down in Tampa Bay. That guy keeps it up and he'll earn himself a headliner on the junkis site!

Oh yeah, without a doubt - because of a balanced attack, Brian Griese is having an All-Pro type year, plus a great defense...watch out NFC South, the Bucs are rollin' in their cadillac

I predict the Jags-Broncos to be a great defensive struggle, the Jags D held the Colts to 10 points in Indy, the Jets scored 7 of their point on a pick off, I think home field prevails as Denevr has struggled on the road the past few seasons, 16-13 Jags,
Pats-SD, The G-Men moved the ball well in the first half, the Pats will score 30, the Chargers will move the ball but be held to some FG after the drives, LT is awesome bt the Pats hold him to 120 Yds and Chargers lose 30-23, (the Pats better win, I am going to this game!)
KC at home is a different team, they will win 27-20, Akers is hurtin, McFly is hurtin, Eagles struggled with the Raida's.

Great win by the Broncs in Jax, and my hometown boys can't seem to lose even when they play like poo in the first half. McNabb looked terrific in the second quarter, and Todd France actually started hitting some late FG's.

Unfortunately for the Eagles, the NFC East is looking stronger by the day.

Red,
Great job on the picks above!
You are the great prognasticator today, at least!
Broncos are playing well right now, KC is fading, should be between them and SD !
