Slow Mo

With 40 times clocked at 4.82 & 4.73 it seemed as if Maurice Clarett was doing his interviews or perhaps the Wonderlick test during his 40 yard dash. This performance made his stock drop big time. Will a team be willing to take a chance on this slow trouble maker?

Slow mo ran himself out of the NFL with that lack-luster performance. Clarett came into Indy with just a little bit of stock left from a few franchises, and with those 40 times, I bet may 1 or 2 teams were still interested in him as a late 6th or 7th round choice, but the fact that he walked out of the combine after his 40 times really killed those chances. I doubt he'll be drafted unless he does 1 thing...

hold private workout sessions and really improves his 40 times. If he can get those down to the 4.5 range, he'll build up some more stock to be a 4th or 5th round choice.

It's too bad though the combine has to be ran on that turf in Indy, ranked one of the worst playing conditions in the NFL.

He is slower than I was in highschool! hah. The fastest 40'I ran was 4.63. Clarett is done. Can you say "Canadian Football League?"

I'm not making any excuse for him James, I realize it's a fast track as we can obviously see that from any wideout who plays for the Colts. Sometimes when you're used to running on a certain type of track, then going to Indy, can make a difference - though I don't think going from a 4.5 to a 4.8 is possible because of the track.

My guess is predicated on the fact his personal workouts don't go good. And that guess is he won't be drafted. If his workouts do go good, I say 6th round to Arizona.

I think he has a lot to prove and he will do better in private workouts. I say the Broncos take a chance on him late in the draft... What the hell ya know? Clarett would probably rush for 1K in Denver. As for the turf in Indy, sounds like BS, it was the same turf for everyone and there were a few players that ran 4.3 - 4.4 times so what does that mean that they would run a 3.9 on grass...NOT!

Again, I'm not making excuses for the schmuck, all I am saying is that a certain type of surface can make a difference, though I don't believe a half second difference is possible, perhaps like a 10th of a second or something. Either way, that wasn't what I was saying so stop trying to discredit it! He had a terrible outing and he'll need to obviously perform better if he wants to be drafted in the late rounds.
