This decade's OJ?

The woman who accused Bryant of rape decided not to testify forcing the DA to drop the criminal charges against Bryant, now is on the edge of agreeing to a settlement which he won't be convicted in the civil suit either.

Not sure who won this battle, though I think Kobe has the upper edge knowing he doesn't have to face any jail time and only will give up a small % of his money.

I wish I knew all the facts of the case, I'd like to be able to make my own conclusion of whether or not Kobe is guilty.

Either way, Kobe, rape me next, I need the $$$$...your thoughts on the settlement and the case as a whole?

OH, I don't know what to say about this incident other than I wouldn't be surprised when Arvada Mike shows up to humbly tell us all how he was there in the hotel room introducing the chick to Kobe, and then giving Kobe some pointers. All of this after he'd spent the day on the golf course working on improving Kobe's short game.

I really wish I knew the outcome of a criminal case against him. To me, if you accuse someone of anything, you have a responsibility to yourself and to others to make sure that individual is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. By backing off saying she doesn't wish to testify and then to also agree on a settlement is basically an elaborate scheme to get money. For me, it's hard to say otherwise - I just can't fathom the idea of accusing someone, waiting until about 2 weeks until the trial is to begin only to back out for whatever stupid reason.

I'm sure a rape victim feels ashamed and everything, but so does someone who just got their ass kicked. I don't see those people backing off.

This is the problem with the legal system - a person can not be found guilty of any crime, yet be forced to pay millions because of a stupid civil suit. I think the civil case should be just as tough to prove as a criminal case. OJ Simpson for example, found incicent in the court of law, yet was found lible for those deaths and ordered to pay 25 million. Just doesn't make sense.

I don't think I would call him this decades OJ but maybe this decades MJ. Kobe got away with rape it seems and it looks like a quick admission to guilt by having to pay the young dame who got knocked up and is supposedly going to have his baby this spring. All went down hill for Kobe after he raped this chick which is too bad for him I still think it's funny that Karl Malone went hunting for Mexicans and found Kobe's wife.

Either way I see him as a slimeball. Either he committed adultery or he is a rapist.
