Week #6 Games of the Week

Not so many great key games, but here are the top 3 games of week #6 that the writers of Sports Junkies think are important!!!

#1 - New England @ Denver - Two of the top AFC teams square off in Denver Sunday - the never-count-us-out Patriots are looking to continue just an unbelievable run of winning games despite injuries, free agency and other departures of the staff and players against a Broncos team that may not be mathematically one of the top teams, but is sitting on a 4-1 record atop the AFC West.

#2 – St Louis @ Indianapolis – Indianapolis is the only unbeaten team in the NFL remaining and is hoping to continue this trend against the #2 ranked offense in the NFL. Even though the Rams don’t have a winning record, don’t be fooled by this offensive powerhouse – this will be the Colts first and true test of how good their defense has improved.

#3 – Jacksonville @ Pittsburgh – The Jaguars are looking to keep pace in the AFC South and hopes of the playoffs loom every week – as inconsistent as the Jags are, they have proven they can play with the best, which Pittsburgh has to be ranked near the top in the AFC, after an impressive come-from-behind victory over a hot San Diego team. The main concern for the Steelers is Ben Roethlisbergers health after that knee injury late in the game on Monday.

Your thoughts and predictions on these games…

These are 3 very solid games this week, and will have playoff implications when the season comes to a near end. In a battle of AFC teams, New England comes to Denver where Denver is a very tough home team. This game will be based around how well each defense plays. New England will score points as they always seem to do, even against the better defenses (Pittsburgh) but it's which team will allow the least points.

Offensively, New England is a better team, they seem to click on all cylinders and Brady doesn't make a whole lot of mistakes. Their defense is a big concern. I know Schaub isn't a bad quarterback, but when a backup can step in and look like an All-Pro, you just have to wonder...

Denver will need a big, mistake free game from Jake Plummer and Denver will need to effectively run the ball. I don't think running the ball will be the problem...

I'm going to pick Denver in this game because of the home field factor, but this pick is based off the idea that Champ Bailey will play. If he doesn't, then I think Brady will have a huge game passing against two young cornerbacks.

Most people I've talked to about the Colts praise them - which I don't do, but I don't take anything away from them. Their defense looks to be improved, but they haven't played any solid offenses yet. The best ranked offense they've played against is ranked #16, the others are all ranked mid-20's and higher...so their defense will be tested. Regardless, Indy has too good of an offense and the Rams defense is quite bad, ranked 26th in the league. Indy should win this game in what might be a heavy passing game.

For the 3rd game, I'd like to see Jacksonville win it - just so the Steelers can taste defeat again. With a healthy Bettis, I wouldn't pick the Jags, but now since Roethlisberger is injured - who knows? If Ben plays, Pittsburgh will win - if he doesn't, I think the Jags are riding high on their victory over the previously un-beaten Bangals and pull out a low scoring game in Pittsburgh.

Hey guys! Great site you've got here. C'mon on over and watch how I fuck spammers up the ass and spit on their children. It's all on tape. Just go to my site. www.ikillspammersblogspot.com

Just kidding.

What I'm not kidding about is Football! What an interesting year it has been this past first quarter. Geez, just looking at my fantasy teams, and I'm left wondering what happened to these projected studs and where all these ex-waterboys are doing so well. Damn, who would've thought the Ravens would be doing so poorly defensively.

Anyways. I'm not sure what I'm talking about. I'm not making any more predictions 'cause they are very likely to change before we even reach the midway point of the season. I do know one thing for certain, some spammer dude will be coming along any moment to offer us the chance to enlarge our penis's.

I watched the return of the Bus last Monday night and I wasn't impressed. Whisenhunt would be wise (no pun intended) to only use the Bus for goal-line situations. He ran way too slow, and it is obvious he has no agility left when he's carring around that beer belly. It is evident they are perfectly fine without him. Stick with the current transportation of Willie the hand jive Parker.

As for the Pats. Man, that defense could be in for some trouble. They might have to take some advice from one of these spammers and get a mortgage for that D. OK...I admit, I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.

But, if there's any team I'm impressed with are the offsprings of the Broncos- the Colts: the team John Elway raped. Who would've thought Manning and that offense wouldn't be doing as well as their defense?

What a weird first quarter this is. Go Chiefs!

New England is going to get pounded be the Broncos in Denver. I predict the score to be 27-7. The Patriots will not be able to establish a run game with Dillon against this stacked Denver defense. Plummer and the running game will exploit the holes in the Patriots defense starting with the weak secondary that Atlanta lit up last week then attack the middle of the defense with a change up of Anderson and Bell.

I'll get to the others later.

Hey, I noticed you took my link off your list of 'Cool Sites'

Just for that, the Pats will win 55-0 in Invesblows Field.

The donkeys will lose the rest of their games.

Shanahan and Plummer will admit to the press that they are both gay and in love with each other of which their relationship was consummated in the showers after a lucky win.

You laugh gleefully now, but it's all downhill from here. I have cast a spell upon Invesblows field. Muuuuuuahhhhhhhaaaaahhhhhhaaaaahaaaaa!

Oh, and both of you schmucks will lose the rest of your fantasy games.

The Denver - New England game is the game of the week, Red and Steve are about as objective as I am on this game!! PAts D is banged up and Denevr will score some points, but the Pats are not afraid of hostile environments as Pittsburgh and Atlanta will attest to, so the Pats win on a last minute FG !! Why not? Denver barely beat a weak offensive Redskins team at home.
. The Colts will roll up the Rams very weak D to the tune of 41-17.
Steelers are at home against a mediocre Jags offense, even a banged up Big Ben will be enough for a 20-10 win.

Steelers over Jags 31-14, this will be the nail in the coffin as Steve's NBA Jam in his mothers room would say on his Sega Genesis sitting next to the gatorade and dorito salad.

I don't care who plays QB for the Steelers they are winning because what wins them ball games are 1st downs by the Line and Running backs making it happen. Then when you have a team like the Jags you get compfy and hit Ward for a deepie. Can
t anyone touch the Steelers at this point...

Hey Johnny, this Denver/NE game is looking like a route...I gotta be honest though, I've always defended the Patriots and even in my prediction of the game I never once had anything bad to say about them. But there was a specific play at the end of the 2nd quarter where a Patriots guy punch a Broncos defender in the nuts on Vinateri's missed field goal - that is SERIOUSLY uncalled for! That pathetic display made me lose a lot of respect for the Patriots because what that shows me is they can handle winning and show class but can't show class when they are getting their asses kicked! Nothing against you Johnny, but I hope you're embarrassed as a fan seeing that crap! I know if anyone from Denver did that I’d be highly disappointed.

On that note, good luck to your Patriots, hopefully they can pull it together and make a run for the AFC East crown (looking like a tough battle, especially if Holcombe can continue playing the way he is)

Ok - I wrote my last comment during half time, perhaps not a route, the Patriots have impressed me quite a bit in this 2nd half...but I still have lost respect because of that crap!

The uncalled for whack to the nuts was done by a rookie lineman and not normally charcteristic of Patriots actions. No excuse but it happens and it should not. Denver Broncos are no saints either as their offensive line has been known for leg whips and crack backs and the other NFL players voted them the dirtiest line in football. So please don't judge our organization on one boneheaded play. I rank this years Broncos at #2 in my perssonal power rankings, they may be better than Indy as Denver played a much tougher schedule. You whipped my Pats and now you will probably whip my second favorite team, the Giants. I live in Western Mass. and we have TV coverage from Albany so we have always had all Giants games teleivised , hence the connection.

Fair enough johnny...I agree the Broncos line don't necessarily do everything by the "book" there area few gray areas they take advantage of, but it's nothing that would get a player ejected for! There's a difference between playing the sport blocking any which way you can and taking a shot at someone's nuts AFTER the play is over...that's what I'm taking about. I'm sure players spit on each other, pinch, bite, whatever during play, but that was horrible...However, you are right, it was a boneheaded play by a rookie - guess he'll get a welcome to the league with a nice fine from Tagliabu.

Surprising though that defensive line is playing extremely well - I wish our schedule had us traveling to Cleveland, I'd like them to witness first hand what they gave us!

Stunning endings in the NFC east games, The G-Men tear out the hearts of the Broncos on a miracle finish, The Eagles win a sure loss omn a blocked FG and Dallas gets jobbed on a non call on pass interference and seattle steals one. The amazing, unpredictable NFL !! Saints got totally jobbed.
