Retire or not to retire?

That is the Question...

The Packers need to move on and look to the future if you want my opinion. As for Brett Favre if he wants to continue his career well he should, he should get on a contender though. Perhaps the Dolphins would be a good fit for him....

I saw Brett on Inside the NFL (HBO) this week. He is a Packer for life, he won't be wearing another uniform. The right thing for him to do (which due to his pride will not happen) would be step aside and mentor Aaron Rogers as the back-up QB. He can still throw the ball but his decision making has been erratic this year, and he has lost many weapons. The O-Line has not protected him well either. He is an icon in Green Bay much like Elway in Denver. You would never picture Elway in a KC uniform, nor will Brett adorn an "enemy" uni ! In todays NFL, the Pack could be playoff contenders next year by returning all of their injured players, a good draft and a few good free agent signings, they play in a weak division. Who would have predicted the Bears would win the north at this time last year? So Brett may return!

Damn Johnny now that you put it that way I have to agree with you. They are getting back Green and Walker next season and they are in a weak division that they could have easily won if they weren't plagued by injuries. Snoop Dogg is also on the record saying #4 will be back next season, but man he might get yanked if he keeps up that doggish play.

Sorry fella's that I have been out of the loop...I just got back yesterday from our Christmas vacation in Houston.

First off, I'd like to give a shout out to the Broncos who secured a 13-3 season mark, a 1st round bye and I am hoping to face Indy in the AFC Title game.

As far as the post...Yeah the NFC North isn't as prominent as they once were, but I certainly don't think it's a "weak" division. You do have the Bears who have the best defense in the NFL and a Vikings team also decimated by injuries. However, I do see the Packers having the ability to compete for the division title if healthy, they certainly lost a lot of offensive weapons to injuries this season, but they need to improve their defense if that is the case.

My thoughts on Farve – I think it’s time for him to retire, call it a career. And what a career it was. The only problem is I don’t think he is going to retire. I can’t imagine a QB wanting to close out a brilliant career finishing his last season 3-13, if he were .500 or near there, he’d be gone, but when you finish poorly, you have a lot of adrenaline and desire to get back into it and improve, but who knows.

I think he just needs to step away, get into the HOF 1st ballot and write himself in the NFL history books as one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game.
