Very solid games this weekend and I am thinking some pretty good upsets are going to happen. I'll start in the NFC.

Washington @ Tampa Bay - Surprisingly the Bucs won the NFC South with great solid play from their defense and Chris Simms has shown the NFL world what he is capable of doing. However, I mentioned upsets and I think this game will be one of them. Washington is playing as good as any team in the league right now, their defense is flying around the ball, creating turnovers and Portis has re-emerged as a leading rusher in the league. Brunell is also playing very well...look for some big plays in a low scoring defensive struggle, but I think the Redskins move on to Seattle with a 21-17 win.

As much as I'd like to see the Panthers pull off the win, this team has been very unpredictable. Steve Smith I will say has been the best receiver in football this season, but their offensive line has been medicore at best. I don't see them going into Giants Stadium and pulling a win, but it should be a close game, Giants win 27-21.

In the AFC, The Patriots should get by the Jags. I like the Jags chances if they start Gerrard, but if Leftwich plays, the Patriots will easily win. Leftwich hasn't played in a month and to come back in a playoff game, he just won't have the rythm or game speed to give them a good chance. Patriots win 31-17.

The Bengals need to watch themselves, last two weeks their defense has been TERRIBLE. And the Steelers offense has been quite good, so I do think the Steelers can pull the upset. However, I also think the Bengals are just a good solid team and will win 27-24

Well Steve on the NFC side of things I'm going to disagree. I think Tampa bay will win against the Redskins. I believe the Bucs defense can put Portis in check and pull out a low scoring win with the freshness of Cadillac Williams. Bucs win 10-6.

As for the G-Men and the Panthers. I believe Steve Smith will have a HUGE game against the Giants and will take them out 27-20 in a thriller. If they can get in Mannings face which I believe they will, they can win this one hands down.

I agree both the Pats and the Bengals will get victories in the 1st round. The Patriots are playing great football right now and are getting primed for that Superbowl run. Pats 21, Jags 7
The Bengals have a tough one on there hands but will pull it out with a high turnover game for there defense like they have all season. Look for Rothlesburger to choke it up when he is forced to pass 30+ times because of the potent Bengals offense. Bengals 21, Steelers 14

Washington-Tampa, close game, Skins are a bit banged up, playing well, but Tampa prevails 17-13.
Patriots play a tough 12-4 Jags team but the difference in QB's here spells a 23-16 Pats win. Giants can't handle the Carolina pass rush, Steve Smith burns em deep and Panthers win 27-23. Steelers play ball control, smash mouth football, Cincy leads early on but gets worn down , 31-27 Steelers. Week 2 will be excellent with Steelrs Colts and Patriots Broncos! We Pats fans are looking forward to playing an excellent Broncos team, I think turnovers decide that one. Both teams are playing great D and both can score.

I think the skins-Bucs might be the tightest game of the weekend. I think the skins we saw last week are a little more on the mark of what they are capable of. If Simms can keep it under control than I say Bucs win 20-17.
The Giants are struggling and even though it's in the Meadowlands I say Panthers 24-14. Manning is going to have a tough day.
The Pats-Jags should be the lock of the day. The Jags had three of the easiest teams in the league down the stretch and they didn't look that good until last week. No way they win at Foxboro. Pats 30-17
We all know the Bengals have struggled on defense, but what happened to that explosive offense? I think the Bengals peaked too early and the Steelers are ready for another shot at them. Steelers 28-20.
I have been a Broncos fan since 1977 and I am proud of what they have done this year, but it's going to be a tough road in the playoffs. My main concern is that their running game is not as strong as it was say prior to Thanksgiving. I was impressed by the defense last week. The Chargers were throwing everything at them and they bent, but didn't break even with some injury problems.

Washington, Carolina, Jacksonville, Cincy.

There's no way the Patriots should lose this game, except for the fact that they are incredibly overrated right now, are still injured and have beaten only sub .500 teams for most of the season. It will be up to Tom Brady. The Pats could be surprised. Then again, they could beat Jacksonville 55-0. Who knows.

Well Greg, looks like your picks will be a perfect 0-4 as the winners are Tampa, Pats, Giants and Steelers!
Then Indy SMOKES the Steel, Pats beat Denver and Indy spanks the Pats !! Easy pickins!
