Summer Brees makes me feel fine

The task at hand: Stop this man! Drew Brees is having the season of his life so far tossing for 21 TD's and only 3 picks and has even ran for 2 scores. Not only that but Brees has lead his team into 1st place with an 8-3 record and a chance to widen the gap this weekend against the Broncos. This Charger team is unlike the Charger teams we've seen the past few years that jump out to great starts but finish in last. This Charger team is for real coming into next week's game with the 9th ranked defense in the AFC with an impressive rush defense only giving up 79 yards a game. The Broncos will be put to the test this weekend in a playoff like atmosphere in San Diego. The Broncos will need to stop the Brees-Gates connection if they want to come out on top. Who would have known this would be the big game in the AFC west this year. If I would have told you the Chargers would be in the big game in the AFC west you would have laughed. If Denver can pull this off this might be the jump start to get them back on track and off the inconsistant railroad they have been on.

Champ or Chump?

Champ or Chump that is my question. We ship off our best player for Champ Bailey and you think we would get that so called Shut Down Corner. It's been more like that pick on corner. Champ Bailey got picked on last night and even gave up the game winning TD and made Jerry Porter look more like Jerry Rice. Herndon came through, Lenny Walls came through, shoot the entire Defense came through last night except for big dollar Bailey. After Al Wilson stopped Tyrone Wheatley on a 4th and 1 play I thought for sure that would have set the tone for the night but instead the Broncos let the Raiders hang around and the play of Champ Bailey could have single handedly been the reason we lost. I can see Porter getting position on Bailey for the slant that he got for a TD, and yes maybe he slipped on the deep one that set up a TD but the final TD that Bailey gift wrapped for Porter was the big one. Champ or Chump?

Throw something Heavier!

What the hell is wrong with this idiot? I think that it was in RonArtest intentions to create such a meleee so he could work on his rap album. That is what I think were the thought of Ron Artest when he laid down on the scorers table to heckle a pissed off Ben Wallace. I don't agree with the fan that threw the cup on Artest either but if Artest was gonna react like he did maybe the fan should have thrown something heavier like an anvil or something. I am completely furius at Ron Artest and the other Pacer hooligins, especiall Stephen Jackson! Jackson had no reason to be up in the stands walloping the fans. The only part I disagree with about the suspensions given was the 30 days that Jackson got. he should have got the whole season just like Artest. I guess this backs up the image that the NBA puts on - Drug using hooligins! Ron Artest father of 4... How soes he explain his actions to them?

If you could go back in time to see one sporting event in person, which would you choose?

The Thrilla In Manila

If I could go back to any sport moment in person this would have to be it. This barely beat out going back to see Jesse Owens take home 4 gold medals in the Berlin olympics when Hitlor himself wouldn't personally award Owens. But to see Ali at his finest moment in the end of a trioligy of 2 of the greatest boxers of all time would have to be my pick. This boxing match went 14 rounds before Frazier's trainer threw in the towell. Both men were nearly beat to death in this match. This is Ali at his finest.

Roller Coaster ride!

Tighten your seatbelts and put your hands in the air because the Roller Coaster is in sewrvice. Jake Plummer has been a roller coaster Quarterback this year tossing 19 TD's and 10 Picks. Can he tame down his wild side and truly grab on to his career and be consistant. That is my big question.

Hot Seat?

Well it's time to put Shanahan on the Hot Seat I believe. Come on 9 years and only 2 years with playoff wins, yes those two years were Super Bowl years but with who? Elway & Davis. The Broncos have failed to win a single playoff game since Elway retired. In the 11 years total that he has coached, only 2 years with playoff wins. Whose head should we be calling for? The Broncos always start out the season great but then the league catches on to our scheme, Shanahan needs to be able to adapt to the change of the league and make changes, it's just like in the games we come out strong but then Shanahan doesn't make the changes he needs to to keep the lead.

What happened to the...?

I know being a Bronco's fan I am scratching my cranium wondering where the #1 ranked NFL defense has been the past 2 weeks. I was having a conversation about the defense this morning and still couldn't come up with a resonable excuse for why the Bronco's defense has been lack-luster the past 2 weeks.

But then I looked at the bigger picture and realized this isn't just a problem with the Bronco's. The prosperity in the NFL is so great these days that people are now seeing the greatest show on turf (Rams of Kurt Warner days) multiplied indefinetly. I mean Jake Plummer throwing for 499 yards, 4 TD's? Manning 5 TD's 480 yards, Drew Brees 290 yards 5 TD's. . .Culpepper throwing 5 TD's in a game on three different occasions. Holmes 4 rushing TD's in 1 game (oh, and Blaylock had the same amount, in the same game, for the SAME TEAM).

Is it me, or where has the D-FENCE gone?
